about

nude ethics & production

Nude Ethics is a one woman shop, run, designed and embroidered by myself - Jessica.

It's all quite simply in the name. This store focuses on ethically crafted pieces for those that want to make a difference. It's also a fruity place to be.

Nude Ethics was created to offer affordable designs made with ethical standards. Each piece from the Nude Ethics range is made from organic cotton, fair wear production, renewable energy and a minimal carbon footprint. Garments are created using a water 'loop system', meaning 99% of the water used to create these garments is reused. Nude Ethics is also plastic free, of course. Read more about production below.

From buying from this store, you'll know you'll be buying something honest.

made to order

reducing waste

What's a better way to reduce waste than to only make what you need?

All embroidered designs are made by me in my office with my digital embroidery machine. Each piece is unique but beautifully made. Some designs are made from scrap fabric, samples that didn't quite work out or items that have the smallest imperfection that stops them being sold. Any piece of fabric left over that can't be re-used is collected in my 'fabric bin', which will be repurposed when there's enough. So far, there's been zero waste and I plan on keeping it that way.

Made to order typically takes up to a week for the garment to be embroidered and labelled. I'll always try and aim to send out your fruity design as soon as I can. If I need longer, I'll always let you know.

Nude Ethics blanks are manufactured by Earth Positive, read more about them and see their factory here. Why do I use them? Well, they're the first of their kind and oh so honest. They're organic, ethical, and with a 90% reduced carbon footprint, they're the most sustainable clothing on Earth. 'Made to order' designs are embroidered by myself using thread made by wood pulp. Screenprinted garments are traditionally printed at Blackwater Studios in Cornwall, England with Waterbased inks (I trust them because I used to work there).

Organic clothing certified by Fair Wear Foundation, Carbon Trust & GOTS.
